Mark 10:46-52

King James Version

46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.

48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

46 Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road. 47 When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48 “Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him.

But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49 When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, “Tell him to come here.”

So they called the blind man. “Cheer up,” they said. “Come on, he’s calling you!” 50 Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus.

51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked.

“My Rabbi,[a]” the blind man said, “I want to see!”

52 And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.[b]

  Today I want you to envision that JESUS is in front of you or perhaps you heard that he was going to be passing by. What would your reaction be?

  Will press on the brakes because you are worried about who is beside you. Or are you going to chase after him until you get your miracles?

  Sometimes in life, we must be radical and chase after that which we know belongs to us as children of GOD.

  Blind Bartimaeus found out that the miracle worker, JESUS who also is the way maker was passing by, and he knew that he had a window of opportunity to get healed and he was not going to let anyone stop him from receiving his miracle.

  He cried out, “Oh thou son of David have mercy on me.”

  And when he was told to shut up he cried even louder. Friends, what is it in your life that you have been quiet about it is time to have a radical kind of faith and to stretch out and cry out to the LORD for mercy.

   For someone today you may say “Prophet my faith is on “E” and I am all prayed out. You know that is fine because we serve a GOD who loves us so much and he knows our hearts and sees the situations that have plagued us for a long time,

  In the book of Mark chapter 9 and verse 24, the bible tells a story of a man whose son was in desperate need of healing, and when JESUS told him that if he believes all things will be possible to him. He was very honest with JESUS and said “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

 Mark 9:24 KJV

24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

  I love the way that the NLT translation puts it

Mark 9:24 NLT

24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

 I want to encourage you today friends that it is not over until GOD says that it is over. Your miracle is not on the way it is here now. And JESUS is asking a question what can I do for you today?

  Conclusively the bible never tells us how long blind Bartimaeus had been on that road. But one thing that we know is that he had a divine appointment, and he was not going to let JESUS pass him by without him receiving his miracles.

    Friends I pray over you today in the mighty name of JESUS that you will receive your miracle and that you will never give up hope because there is an expiration date to any challenges that you are facing today.

  GOD loves you so much in JESUS’s name.
